Martin Ave
A garden overlooking Ōrākei Basin, structured around an established pōhutukawa and the transition between two distinct landscapes.
At the rear, a relaxed Mediterranean character responds to the sun and expansive outlook. Olive and bay provide an evergreen framework, with softer layers of gardenia, gaura and sedum bringing texture, movement and seasonal change. The mature pōhutukawa sits at the centre of the composition, anchoring the garden and framing views across the water.
The front garden takes a more enclosed and immersive approach. Tree ferns and hydrangea create a lush threshold to the house, with miscanthus and lomandra introducing movement through the planting. Together, the two gardens respond to their differing conditions while maintaining a consistent and restrained landscape language.
